    I would want to use numbers to identify children attending our daycare age. That way, I can see at a glance whether or not we are adhering to the maximum number of children permitted for each age group.

    It would also be helpful to know when a kid would be moving up to the next age group, providing room for a new baby to be born then.

    The first component of the formula (TODAY()-B2) calculates the number of days that separate the present date from the date of birth. You then divide that number by 365 to get the total number of years.

    The method is straightforward and simple to keep in mind. However, there is a very small issue with it. The majority of the time, it will return a decimal number.
